02:40 pm - The Robert E. Lee I was driving south on Route 11 between Abingdon and Bristol VA. Within a mile, I passed a brilliant field of yellow flowers (mustard?), a dilapidated mom and pop style motel (single story L-shape), and this, the Robert E. Lee Motel. I turned around and stopped to photograph the R.E.L. first.

It was starting to rain when I stopped, and I only managed to get a few photos before the skies opened up. Sans-umbrella, I had to pack it up. The field and the other motel will have to wait until another day. ( +1 )

At the risk of sending you into a site with such intriguing imagery you may never escape, I share this: http://ffffound.com/
It's the little thumbnail pictures that get you. You click on one thing, and invariable one of the thumbnails looks so enticing you have to click that.
I figured the click tree would die out after a while but it never did. The only way to leave was to shut down all tabs for that site.

04:17 pm - I've had the lensbaby on the camera The blurred focal effect can be interpreted as a visual representation of the way we direct our consciousness onto one thing to the exclusion of all else. I don't mean this negatively, like tunnel vision... more like when you are paying close attention to something. When something intrigues you, or when something moves out of the corner of your eye and you turn to look for it, or when searching the eyes of someone for answers. Perhaps you are looking into the eyes of someone you love, or searching the dark for the source of the noise. Or both.
Lots of lensbaby pics to come.
